Raymon B. "Ray" Current, 81, died Feb. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born July 8, 1932, in Trego County, Kan., to John and Ella (Corey) Current. Ray was owner and operator of the Captain's Lounge.

On May 1, 1959, he married Esther Marie Twombly in Clayton, N.M . She died March 30, 2012.

Ray is survived by: grandchildren, Tracie Lowe and husband Mike of Hutchinson, Travis Redd of Wichita, and Deserae Nelson and husband Blake of Wichita; daughter, JoAnn Taylor of Wichita; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and niece, Mary Ellen Day of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Omer, Virgil, LeeRoy and Leslie Current; sister-in-law, Mary Current; and sister, Sylvia Floyd.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation for friends will be from 9 a.m. 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
