Raymond E. Belt, 88, died Oct. 3, 2016, at his home in Hutchinson, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Hutchinson, to Raymond C. and Neva (Arwood) Belt.

Raymond graduated from Haven High School in 1946. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Raymond retired as a dock supervisor from Morton Salt. He was also known as a meticulous craftsman.

On Aug. 7, 1955, he married Evelyn Evans in Clayton, NM. Raymond is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Evelyn, of the home; sons, Richard Belt and wife Susie, Roger Belt and wife Randi, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jennifer Hudson, Christopher Belt, Kyle Belt; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Marjorie Belt, of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by: his parents; twin brother, Richard Lee Belt; and a great-grandson, Noah Hudson.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Ben Friesen officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice or Reins of Hope, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
