Obituary

Raymond Wagler, 83, of South Hutchinson, died February 12, 2020. He was born December 23, 1936, to John Rufus and Esther Evangeline (Krenzin) Wagler.

Raymond graduated from Abbyville High School in 1951 and auctioneer school. He served in the Army National Guard, enjoyed farming, ranching, and buying cattle. Raymond was of the Mennonite faith.

On January 26, 1963, he married Laurene 'Sue' Marteney, in Hutchinson.

Raymond is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Sue of the home; sons, Joel Wagler (Dara) of Lawrence, and Jon Wagler of Eudora; daughter, Cristie Wagler of South Hutchinson; brothers, Charles Wagler of Sterling, and Glen Wagler of Hutchinson; and grandson, Gabriel Wagler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Linc Wagler.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service with military honors conducted by Kansas Army National Honor Guard will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 West 4th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Lowell Entz and Pastor Eric Taylor officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at Elliott Chapel.
