R.C. Schlatter passed away December 28, 2025.   He was born in Hutchinson to Ralph and Lucy (Kicenski) Schlatter.

R.C. attended Reno County rural schools, Hutchinson High School, Fort Hays State University, Wichita State University, and Kansas State University.  He earned the following degrees:  A.A., Hutchinson Community College; B.S., Pittsburg; and M.S, and Ed.S., Emporia State University.

R.C. was a public school administrator, owner of investment properties, and a farmer/stockman.

He was a member of the Central Kansas Landlord's Association, Phi Delta Kappa, Pittsburg State University Alumni Association, Wheat Heritage Engine and Tractor Co. of Goessel, and Hutchinson City Mayor's Housing Task Force.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Elliott Chapel.  Private inurnment will take place at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
