Regina Mae Pritchard, 79, peacefully passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 25, 1932, at Garfield, Okla., the daughter of Emil and Olive Tolman Brown.
She was a 1950 graduate of Hitchcock High School, Hitchcock, Okla., had lived in the Watonga and Tulsa, Okla., communities before moving to Hutchinson in 1999. Regina was baptized into the Southern Baptist faith in 1948 and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson, Kan. She had been a secretary for the City of Tulsa, Okla., retiring in 1998. She taught quilting at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center and was a member of Heart of Kansas and Evening Star Quilt Guilds.
Survivors include: her children, Edward of Topeka, Debbie and Kenny Schumacher of Hutchinson; four granddaughters, Marla Booher, Kendra and Joe Lister, Angela Schumacher and fiance Derek Lawson, Amy and Mike Glazier; six great-grandchildren, J.W., Harvey, Reagan, Sheridan, Presley and Finley; two brothers, J.D. Brown of Locust Grove, Okla., Leon and Fern Brown of Marietta, Okla.; sister, Lillian Dotson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 East 23rd Avenue, Hutchinson, Kan., with Pastor Ray Kempel officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
