Rennie Joe Borders, 74, died Nov. 25, 2006, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.
He was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Waverly, Mo., the son of Gene and Ethel Williams Borders. He graduated from Buhler High School. A resident of Hutchinson most of his life, he was a baker at Rainbow Bakery for 24 years and then worked for Hutchinson Concrete, retiring after 14 years of service.
On March 28, 1954, he married Virginia Ward in Newton. She died Dec. 31, 1988. On Aug. 8, 1989, he married Sharon Kay Olson Kennedy. She died Sept. 14, 1999.
Survivors include: his children and their spouses, Bill and Lana Borders, Hutchinson, Monica and Earl Williams, Nickerson, and Brenda and Mike Keith, Enid, Okla.; stepchildren, Colleen Thode, Partridge, Shellie Hughes, Fairview, Mont., and Kelly Hale, Hutchinson; two brothers, Lee and his wife, Fran, Hutchinson, and Robert and his wife, Kathy, Nickerson; a brother-in-law, Elvin Unruh, Smithville, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rennie Allan Borders; his parents; a brother, Donald Borders; a sister, Luella Unruh; and a step-grandson, Travis Dreiling.
Cremation has taken place. There are no services planned.
