Reverend Edwina Marie Elder, 92, died Sept. 15, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Herbert Craty and Adeline Melissa (Johnston) Nuss.
She married Carl Edward Elder on Nov. 17, 1936, in Terre Haute. He died in 1995.
She was an ordained minister, evangelist, and missionary in the United Pentecostal Church International. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle and the school administrator for the Apostolic Christian Academy for many years.
Survivors include: daughter, Darlene Graves and husband Ronald, Friendship, Wis.; son, Thomas Elder and wife Mary, Salina, Kan.; two brothers, Charles "Charlie" and Louis Nuss, both of Terre Haute, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, Sharon Morey, Hutchinson, Kan. She was preceded in death by: son, the Rev. Carl Charles Elder; daughter, Rebecca Ann Bilson; brother, William Nuss; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Danny and David Elder.
Funeral will be noon Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 1319 E. 17th Ave., Hutchinson, with the Revs. Nathan Karriker, James Charles and Paul Elder officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
