Obituary

Rex H. Meyer, 67, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on January 6, 2023, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was surrounded by his loving family. Rex was born February 24, 1955, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Julius and Valeria Meyer.

He graduated from Haven High School Class of 1973, and later from Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoyed a long career with AT&T, retiring in

2012. He was active in his son's scout group, his family farm, and was a member of National Society of Professional Engineers. His most prized possession in life was his immediate and extended family, whom he loved most dearly.

Rex married Vickie Morgan in 1979. She survives. Other survivors are two children, Chris Meyer (Marie) Wichita, KS, and Megan Perry (Dustin), Wichita, KS, three grandsons, Jonah Perry, Hudson Perry, and Elijah Perry; brother Jerry Meyer (Doni), parents-in-law Jim and Phyllis Morgan, brothers-in-law Dave Morgan (Maribeth), Martin Morgan (Linda), Brian Morgan (Cathy), many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Valeria Meyer.

A special thanks to the staff at Catholic Care Center and Good Shepherd Hospice for their wonderful loving care.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven, Kansas. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
