Rhonda Lee Gisick, 70, died April 12, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 15, 1954, in Hutchinson, to Norma Lee Smith.
In 1972, Rhonda graduated from Nickerson High School, she pursued her education at Hutchinson Community College, earning her associates degree. Rhonda worked as a receptionist for multiple businesses through the years, ending at Window Genie of Wichita.
On June 24, 1977, she married Marty Gisick, in Hutchinson. They shared over 47 years of marriage, during those years they were active members at Westside Baptist as AWANA leaders, choir members, and many other roles. He survives.
Rhonda found joy in capturing life's precious moments through photography, freezing time with her cherished images. She lovingly dedicated herself to creating a warm home for her daughters throughout their younger years. Her family was her greatest treasure, bringing her immeasurable happiness. Rhonda's devotion to her family was unwavering, and nothing brought her more delight than the company of her grandchildren, with whom she enthusiastically shared every school event, sporting match, and special occasion.
Other survivors include: her daughters, Jennifer (Branden) Barrett of Wichita and Amy (Malcolm) Philbrick of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jayden Barrett, Kaylie Barrett, Parker Philbrick, and Baylee Philbrick; mother, Norma Lee Smith of Buhler; and siblings, Mike (Ruth) Smith, and Susie (Bob) Turner both of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marcy Phelan and grandparents, W.C. and Bertha (Hodson) Smith, and I.C. and Opal (Lee) Montford.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until service day, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Rhonda Gisick Memorial Fund for her grandchildren, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Rhonda Gisick Memorial Fund, please make checks payable to Elliott Mortuary.
