Richard Caldwell Cash, 83, of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018. He was born November 30, 1934, at Gaffney, SC, to Newton Loren and Mrytle (Painter) Cash.
Richard was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Air Force, and was a mechanic for Dillons Bakery for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
On August 18, 1957, he married Beverly Ann Schepmann, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors are: son, Joel of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Nick Cash of Wichita, Rachel Diepenbrock and husband A.J. of Phoenix, AZ, Kyle Shelton of Hutchinson; two nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Anne Shelton; and sisters, Lorene, Martha, and Betty.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Henry Blickhahn presiding. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Holyrood, with military honors conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church or Salvation Army, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
