Richard Bruce "Dick" Gaeddert, was wrapped in Jesus' hands and lifted up to Heaven, Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was born July 13, 1940, at Newton, the son of Walter and Harriet Knowles Gaeddert.
He was a 1958 graduate of Moundridge High School, a 1962 graduate of Bethel College, a member of Union Valley Bible Church, Independent Order of Foresters, McPherson Jaycees and the local teamsters union. Dick was a truck driver, driving for Rainbow Bread, Groendyke and finished his career with Dillons, retiring in 1998, with 25 years of service.
He was married to Carolee Ann Goering. On January 22, 1972, he married Carol Jean Israel in Newton. She survives. Other survivors include: three daughters, Colleen (Gary) Brown of Topeka, Sheryl (Tim) White of Wichita, and Sherry (Charles Scott) Bradley of Hutchinson: two brothers, Jim (Leda) of Kansas City, and Allen (Margaret) of Newton; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Tori) White, Cody (Crystal) White, Andrea (Brandon) Barnhart, Jessica (Travis) Sussee, Jackie Unruh, Lindsey (Nathan) Hatfield, Stephanie Gehring, Erin Brown, and Baily Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Cooper, Cole, Porter, Boone, Madeline, Maxton, Mackenlee, and Dylan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Carolee Ann Gaeddert.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 East 30, Avenue, Hutchinson, KS 67502, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. His register book will be available to sign until service time at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
