Richard Lee Hendershot, Jr., 45, died August 17, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born June 27, 1977, in Hutchinson, to Dick and Debra (Grimm) Hendershot.

Richard graduated from Nickerson High School in 1995.  He previously worked at Dillons for 28 years, and enjoyed spending time taking part in outdoor sports.   Richard had an unforgettable personality, and was loved unconditionally by his family.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but Richard is now at peace as he is reunited with his mother.

Richard is survived by:  father, Dick Hendershot of Hutchinson; sisters, Staci Jackson (Bart) of Kingman, and Stephani Spiess of Wichita; nieces and nephews, Baylee Jackson, Shyann Waldschmidt (Logan), Trystan Spiess, and Connor Spiess; one aunt; one uncle; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W 4th Ave, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jim Unruh officiating.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with the family present Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council of Reno County (for the loving support they gave his mother), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
