Richard Lee 'Dick' Owens, 72, of Hutchinson, died December 27, 2020, at Hospice House. He was born August 27, 1948, in Jacksonville, FL, the son of John and Pauline (Billings) Owens.

Dick graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army.  Dick worked as a fabricator in aircraft manufacturing for Cessna and Global Engineering. He also was a representative for the Jewel Tea Company and worked as a first-responder and EMT. Dick was an avid K-State Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was also a member of Hutchinson Community College Quarterback Club, serving as president.

Dick also loved travel and his favorite place to visit was Maui. It is his wish for his ashes to be scattered on the beach there.

On June 21, 1985, Dick married Janine Ann Graham in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: sons, Steven Owens and Scott Owens (Jennifer), all of Wichita; granddaughters, Mikaela Smith (Harris), Germany, Taylor Stevenson (fiancé, Carson Wittman), Newton, and Allison Owens, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 1 - 4 p.m. Saturday, January, 2, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday.
