PRETTY PRAIRIE – Richard Leroy "Dick" Smyth, 67, died Nov. 5, 2016, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie. He was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Edward L. and Mary M. (Hale) Smyth.

Dick graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1968 and was owner and operator of South Shop.

Dick is survived by: sons, Jason Smyth and wife Megan of Arlington, Jeff Smyth and wife Mia of Hutchinson, Justin Smyth of Turon; grandchildren, Gracie, Grady, Weston, Bentley, Paisley, Kinslee; sister, Pam Holtby of Pretty Prairie; and brother, Pat Smyth of Joliet, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Steve.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pete Haflich presiding. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, rural Castleton, Pastor Melvin Walton officiating. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday.
