Richard M. "Rick" Caldwell, 70, died February 9, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital, Kansas City, KS. He was born February 8, 1953, in Hutchinson, to Guy Merl and Josephine Anne (Freeto) Caldwell.

Rick graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1971 and attended the University of Kansas. He was the director of operations for Caldwell Greenhouse in Hutchinson for nearly 20 years before becoming chief financial officer for META in Lawrence, KS.

Rick enjoyed reading and serving in his church music ministry. Sports was a favorite pastime. He particularly enjoyed watching the Chiefs and KU basketball. Rick loved to spend time with his family, especially on their frequent trips to Colorado. Rick attended Faith Life Church in Branson, MO.

He married Cindy K. Hoffman in Hutchinson, KS.

Rick is survived by: wife, Cindy K. Caldwell, Hutchinson; daughters, Emily (Pedro Gonzalez Avila) Caldwell, Allen, TX, Sarah Caldwell and Hannah Caldwell, both of Branson, MO, Ashley (Nick) Lindeman, Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Adaline Lindeman, Kansas City, MO; sisters, Jan (Dan) Higgins, Leawood, KS, Kathy Walker, Hutchinson, and Nancy (Bob) Corkins, Lawrence, KS; brother, John (Lucy) Caldwell, Queens, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
