Obituary

Richard "Dick" O'Hanlon, of Lyons, KS, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 8, 2021.

He was born on June 5, 1931 in Omaha, NE, to Luther O'Hanlon and Margaret (Barnwell) O'Hanlon.

Dick graduated from Technical High School , and went to college at the University of Nebraska (Omaha campus) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.  He married his wife Maryann in 1951, and they celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary earlier this year.  Dick enlisted in the United States Air Force, served in Japan during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1958.  As a career chemist, he retired from Enron at the gas refinery in Bushton, KS.  Dick enjoyed singing in the choir at church and also singing solos for various functions accompanied by his wife on piano.  Anyone who met him probably never forgot his sense of humor.

Dick was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Luther (Pat) O'Hanlon; and granddaughter, Patricia Winget.

He is survived by: his wife, Maryann; daughters, Gail Wolfe, Carol Woodbridge (Stephen); sons, Patrick, David (Kathy), and Jim (Tamara); grandchildren, Monica Gibson, Robert Wolfe (Gail), Amanda Perry, Ashley Pulaski, Heather McEwen, Joshua Winget, Johnathan Winget (David), Chris O'Hanlon, Niki O'Hanlon (Patrick), and Michael O'Hanlon (Jim); and many great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life event at the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons, KS on Saturday, October 16 th at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Northern Rice County Food Bank, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
