Richard Forrest "Rick" Pitts, 51, of Hutchinson, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 25, 1965, in Hutchinson, to Walter and Mary Jean (Scantlin) Pitts.

Rick graduated from high school in 1986. He was a member of the TECH community his entire life. Rick loved people, listening to rock and roll music, Cherry Pepsi, and being with his family.

Survivors include: siblings, Carol Pitts of Topeka, Ron Pitts (Valjean), Stan Pitts, all of Tulsa, Okla., Peggy Holmberg (John) of Overland Park, Vivian Ryan of Tampa, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his TECH family, whom he loved with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Pitts.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. A family inurnment will take place at a later date in Laurel Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
