Obituary

BUHLER - Richard J. Schrag, 92, died March 12, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born Dec. 18, 1919, in rural Kingman County, to Benjamin A. and Caroline Graber Schrag.

Richard was a member of First Mennonite Church at Pretty Prairie. On July 29, 1953, he married Arlene M. Graber in rural Moundridge. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, David Schrag and wife Joan of South Hutchinson, Becky Schrag of Wichita, Rick Schrag and wife Penny of Hutchinson, and Kathy Kroeker and husband Loren of Inman; seven grandchildren and spouses; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Pauls of Winnipeg, Canada; brothers, Johnny Schrag of Pretty Prairie and Herb Schrag of Hutchinson. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at First Mennonite Church, 1718 West Pretty Prairie Road, with Pastor Lester Zook officiating. Burial will follow in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
