Richard Arland Smith's Obituary
Richard Arland Smith, 78, of Hutchinson, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 24, 1939, in Hutchinson, the son of Noble A. and Helen L. (Kirchner) Smith.
Richard graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor's Degree in History from Wichita State University. After completing basic training in the United States Air Force, he served in the Air National Guard of Kansas from 1961 to 1967. Richard worked as a corrections officer for Hutchinson Correctional Facility until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
On April 5, 1975, Richard married Lucinda C. Bekemeyer in Wichita. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughter, Tobin Smith; grandchildren, Dorian Smith, Alyssa Pina and Alasondra Pina, all of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant son, Derek Allen Smith; brother, George Smith; and sister, Martha Bantz.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
