Richard Joseph Webb III, 73, of Walker, KS, died, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at his home. He was born December 22, 1949, in Hutchinson, KS to Richard Joseph and Mary Helen (Urban) Webb, Jr. His life partner was Louise Virginia Sheets. They were together for over 20 years until her passing on May 14, 2014.
He was a retired construction foreman and a veteran of the United States Navy. He served during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts and other service medals. Richard grew up in South Hutchinson, KS and attended high school in Nickerson, KS. He has lived in Walker, KS since 1995. Richard was a member of Victoria V.F.W. Post #1751, Military Honor Guard Funeral Detail, and attended St. Ann's Catholic Church in Walker, KS.
Richard is survived by: his mother, Mary Helen Webb, South Hutchinson, KS; siblings, Catherine Hixon, Patricia (Harlan) Best, Barbara Webb all of Hutchinson, KS, Frances (Robert) Ronnau, Christine Webb-Mikesell, all of Mesa, AZ, Rita (Kris) Carpenter, Colwich, KS, Mary Walker and David Cunningham, Overland Park, KS, David Webb and Daniel Webb, both of South Hutchinson, KS; numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by: his father, Richard Joseph Webb Jr.; life partner, Louise Virginia Sheets; and sisters, Ruth Martinie and Vivian Sorenson.
Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, KS, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Father Eric Weldon will officiate both services. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Winterset Cemetery, south of Gorham, KS. Military Honors will be conducted by the Victoria V.F.W. Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, at Elliott Mortuary.
