BILOXI, Miss. - Richard "Dick" Young, 59, died June 2, 2009, in Biloxi, Miss. He was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Pratt, the son of Horace R. and Margaret Powers Young. He graduated in 1969 from Skyline High School, Pratt. A resident of Hutchinson most of his adult life, he worked as a pipe fitter and welder, and in recent years worked as a cook.

He belonged to Plevna Community Church.

On Nov. 21, 2008, he married Devlyn D. Combs in Bay Minette, Ala. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Jason and Lisa, Hutchinson; a stepson, Laynz Combs, Gulfport, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Shadow Hudson, Gulfport, Miss.; a brother, Rick and Vickie Young, Hutchinson; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Wendi Young; a brother, Elton Young; and a sister, Sherry Garcia.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Plevna Community Church, with Pastor David E. Green presiding.
