Rita A. Negherbon, 87, died Dec. 5, 2008, at her home, Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Purcell, Okla., the daughter of Albert Joseph and Melinda M. Moisant Lawrence.
She was a 1940 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Salina. A resident of Hutchinson since 1959, moving from Salina, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, Altar Society of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the Lady's Golf Association.
On May 28, 1946, she married Albert R. Negherbon in Salina. He died Jan. 27, 2006.
Survivors include: a son, Joseph "Joe", Bellview, Fla.; daughters, Julia Hulsey and husband, Ron, Hutchinson, Nancy Negherbon, Albuquerque, N.M., and Doris "Dodo" Smith and husband, Ed, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, Matthew Hulsey, Joshua Hulsey, Jonathan Hulsey, Meredith Hulsey, Ashley Hudson, Emily Negherbon, Whitney Willett, Catherine Mir, Whitney Mir, Thane Mir, Abby Smith, Andrew Smith and Jacob Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and Darrel Mir, father of the Mir grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Parish Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
