ARLINGTON - Robert G. "Bob" Anderson, 81, died Jan. 31, 2006, at his home, Arlington.
He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Worthing, S.D., the son of Andrew and Nora Ness Anderson. A longtime Arlington resident, he worked for the Reno County Highway Department for 171/2 years and for the City of Arlington for 13 years.
He belonged to Abbyville Community Church and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 982 and the former I.O.O.F. Reno Lodge No. 99. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On Feb. 7, 1976, he married Ethel Louise Harris in Arlington. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Galen, Newton; a daughter, Marlene Roth, Rockwall, Texas; four stepchildren, James Harris, Langdon, Betty Bishop, Arlington, Louise Rinebold, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Ruth Daharsh, Americus; two brothers, Jack, Canton, S.D., and Dick, Winterset, Iowa; two sisters, Ruth Hoff, Garden Grove, Calif., and Islo Leccesi, Beach Park, Ill.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
