Robert Wayne "Bob" Lytle, 61, went to be with his heavenly father after a long illness Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born April 22, 1954, in Anthony, the son of E.C. and Ilene (Nichols) Lytle.
He attended schools in Pueblo, Colo., and graduated from Garden City High School in 1972, was a member Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, and had been a construction supervisor for Borton Inc., KanArk Construction and retiring from Hutchinson Correctional Facility with 28 years of service. Robert was also a member of Carpenters Local #1587 at Union Hall. Robert especially loved fishing, camping, playing cards and spending time with his family, friends and his dogs.
On Dec. 24, 1980, he married Sharon Shuman Salmon in Hutchinson. They had been married 35 years this past Christmas Eve. She survives. Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Chad and Dustin, Cassandra "Cassie" Campbell (Chris) all of Hutchinson; aunt, Ann Nichols of Wichita; siblings, Debbie Battenberg of Orlando, Fla., John Yeary of Beloit, Jerry Yeary of Winfield and Eldon "Smokey" Lytle of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Mariah Sharon and Jayden Robert Lytle, William Wayne Lytle, Dalton Dick, Emma Mae Smith and Colby Campbell. He was preceded in death by: his parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Richard G. Brooks presiding. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
