SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Jesus welcomed Robert L. Burk into Heaven Friday, May 17, 2013. "Bob" as many people knew him, was a mechanic all of his life. Besides running his own home shop, he worked at the Buhler School District keeping the buses running in the 60s. He went on to manage the truck shop at Bett's Bakery, mechanic at Ely's GMC, and retired from mechanicing at TECH.

He was a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene, where he attended for over 45 years.

He married Janice C. Kimmel on Jan. 15, 1956. Janice passed away on July 8, 1996. On March 28, 1998, he married Rosalie Hoag at Bethany Church.

He is survived by: wife, Rosalie Burk; his trusty dog, "Lady"; sons, Robert L. Burk Jr. of Hutchinson, Ronald Lee Burk and wife Paula Tomlinson of Washington; step-children, Steve Royse of Wichita, Randy Royse and wife Becky of Hutchinson, Terri Heidebrecht and husband Gary of Yoder; nine step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, 408 N Kent Road, with Pastor Jay Bessmer officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. There will be a meal served at Bethany Church following the graveside service.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
