Robert J. Edgington, 83, died June 22, 2014, at his home in South Hutchinson. He was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Rollo J. and Tressa V. (Nelson) Edgington.
He was active in the military for over 50 years retiring in 1990 as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air National Guard. Robert was also a retired insurance agent for Farmer's Insurance, a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include: daughters, Patti Warnken and Cindy Wiard, both of Hutchinson; sons, David Edgington and wife Star, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Troy Edgington, of Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ron Kite presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the 190th Air Refueling Wing Emergency Fund or the Combat Air Museum both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
