Obituary

Robert Paul "Bob" Fischer, passed away April 8, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village.  He was born November 24, 1924, in Great Bend, to Paul F. and Neva (Mellies) Fischer.

Bob was a 1943 graduate of Hudson High School, Hudson.  He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946.  Bob was a farmer and stockman in the Stafford and Pawnee counties and served as a Reno County Commissioner for four years.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.  Bob's memberships included the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and Grace Episcopal Church, both of Hutchinson.

He is survived by:  children, Paula (Steve) Cardwell of Hutchinson, and Scott Fischer of Sacramento, CA; step-children, Steve (Joy) Goble of Olathe, Kurt Goble of Hutchinson, and Debra (James) Pomerleau of Texas; brother, Lee (June) Fischer of Larned; and a granddaughter.

Bob was preceded in death by:  his parents; wife, Mary Fischer; son, Robert C. Fischer; brother, Rex Fischer; and sister, Lois Fox.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Drive, Hutchinson, with The Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley and The Reverend Larry Carver officiating.  Burial will follow in the church columbarium.  Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, through Monday, April 19, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Episcopal Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
