Robert R. Ross, Sr., (Bob), 87, died peacefully Friday morning, January 18, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in Plymouth, Ohio, to the late Willard and Eva Ross. Robert celebrated 66 years of marriage to his bride Doneta. He was a graduate of Heidelburg College, served in World War II, and was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Colorado. He was a retired VP of Administration in the insurance business. He was a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 350 F & A M.
He is survived by: his beloved wife, Doneta Ross; son, Robert R. Ross, Jr. and his spouse Mary Ann Ross; daughters, Rebecca Ross and Elizabeth Ross; brother, Richard and wife Verna; granddaughters, Christine Pechstein, Malia Ross, Heather Garbarini and her spouse Craig; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William.
A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Getting officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, or the Kiwanis International Foundation, in care of the mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, Ks 67501.
