Obituary

Robert M. "Bob" Reichert, 87, died May 30, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center.

He was born March 22, 1920, in DeWitt, Iowa, the son of John Martin and Lucy Eby Reichert. He graduated in 1937, from Springfield (Mo.) High School, and in 1951 from Kansas State University. A resident of Hutchinson since 2003, moving from Salina, he was a mechanical engineer.

He attended Northminster Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, and belonged to the Kansas Masonic Lodge, Jewell, Elks Lodge, Salina, and the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Betty Virginia Porter. She died June 3, 1990. On March 23, 1992, he married Grace Mohr. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert Jr., and wife Roberta, Nampa, Idaho, and Gary and wife Dorothy, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Marthajane Reichert, Kingman, Ariz., and Betty Ann Reichert, Susanville, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Marcia Mohr, Salina, and Susan Hanson, Sherwood, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Skip Johnson presiding. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Jewell Cemetery, Jewell, with military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
