Obituary

Robert Seward Rowan, 85, died May 18, 2024, at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. He was born August 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL.

Robert was a Korean War veteran. He received a Master of Philosophy from Beloit College, WI. Later on in life, he worked as a self- employed carpenter.

Robert was a musician and would play mostly every instrument he could, the banjo, was on of them. He also played the dulcimer with different dulcimer groups in Hutchinson.

On September 8, 1972, he married Barbara Ann Koester in Santa Rosa, CA. They shared 43 years of marriage, prior to her death on August 19, 2016.

Robert is survived by: children, Toni (Craig) Parrott of Hutchinson, Todd (Janet) Rowan of California, Nicole Dean of Oregon, Laurie (David) Hollis of Hutchinson; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: stepchildren, Roger and Jill Tholen.

Cremation has taken place.  No services are planned, Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
