Robert Stanley "Bob" Williams, 86, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hospice House. He was born at Stafford, June 7, 1927, the son of Robert Joel and Fannie Ella Marie Dickson Williams.
He was a 1945 graduate of Stafford High School, a member of Journey at South Hutchinson Mennonite, had been a volunteer at Elmdale Senior Center, Reno County Food Bank and RSVP. Bob worked for Northern Natural Gas 36 years, retiring in 1985.
He was married to Vada Mae Fee. She died January 6, 1996. Then on September 12, 1998 he married Billie Louise True Messick in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include; two daughters, Melissa (Jim) Hague of Springfield, Missouri, Debbie McNaul of Olathe; two step daughters, Doneida (Bob) Baker of Great Bend, Sally (Maurice) Prosser of Iuka; a sister, Carolyn (James) Claypool of Stafford; three grandchildren, Trevor (Jessica) Hague, Heather (Ed) Madrigal, Jenifer (Joe) Insley; five step grandchildren, Carrie (David) Beach, Michelle (Jeff) Mettlen, Kyle (Stacy) Baker, Brad (Jennifer) Prosser, Elesa (Doug) Veatch; seven great grandchildren, Holden and one on the way, Parker and one on the way and Isabel, Oliver and Lucy; eleven step great grandchildren, Alex and Annika, Jayln, Makenna and Beau, Ava and Sophie, Dalton and Riley, Chase and Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James; a sister, Virginia McAfee; and a son-in-law, Gary McNaul.
A private graveside service will be at Stafford Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Journey at South Hutchinson Mennonite, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson, KS with Eric Miller officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
