Robert Henry Middleton Jr., died March 9, 2015, at his home in Hutchinson after a recent illness. He was 64, and was known by many as Bob Walker on KHMY-FM.

Bob was born July 9, 1950, in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Upon graduation from Atlanta's Georgia State University in 1973, Bob worked for radio stations in the Atlanta area. They include WOMN, WOFM, WPLO, WSSA/WBAD, and WCGC.

In 1980, Georgia's loss was Kansas' gain. Bob moved to Hutchinson as the morning disc jockey at the original KSKU 102 FM. Since 2001, Bob was the 'morning man' on MY 93.1, KHMY-FM in Hutchinson. He became ill in late 2014.

Robert Henry Middleton, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Sr. and Catherine Middleton of Decatur, Ga., and sisters, Mary Ellen Middleton and Margret Keller Middleton.

All who knew Bob described him as one of a kind. He really was! A quick wit, infectious laugh, fun loving child-like outlook on life are ways Bob's co-workers and friends described him.

He had many character voices. Bob Walker (Middleton) was known for his on-air comedic characters like Fester Grubbs, Grandma Grits, Modine Larson , Porky Martens and Ty Score, who would 'visit' his show from time to time.

Bob would always end his show with these words: "Come get me mother –I'm through!" They echo even now with his work family and friends. We will never forget Robert (Walker) Middleton.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Friends may sign the book today until the service.
