KINGMAN - Robert Charles Watson, 72, died Aug. 7, 2009, in Kingman, Kan.
He was born April 10, 1937, to the late J.C. and LaMoine Watson.
Bob was a lifetime resident of Kingman, Kan. He graduated Kingman High School in 1955. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea for two years. After returning home, he worked with his father at the Skelly Service Station, a family-owned business. In 1960, he married Becky DeWeese. His career soon began in the grain business.
Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Becky; daughter, Tammie Golden, Bartlesville, Okla.; son, R.C. and his wife Mary Watson; and three cherished grandchildren, C.J., Madison and Reece, of Hutchinson; two brothers, John and wife Barbara Watson, of Kingman, and Bruce and wife Marcy Watson, of Topeka; one sister, Karol and husband Lee Koon, of Shell Knob, Mo.; and several loving nieces and nephews. Bob's life was blessed with many devoted lifelong friends.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at United Methodist Church in Kingman, officiated by Pastor Don Flanner. A private burial will occur at Hoosier Cemetery.
