Roberta S. "Bobbye" Roberts, 81, died Dec. 21, 2008, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Grubbs, Ark., to Oscar and Artie Mae Sullivan Knight.

On April 18, 1960, she married J. Ward Roberts in St. Joseph, Mo. They moved to Hutchinson in 1966. He died April 9, 1984. She then moved to Independence, Mo., where she spent the last 20 years, before returning to Hutchinson in July 2008. Roberta was a sales associate for Wal-Mart.

Survivors include: son, Michael, Raleigh, N.C.; daughter, Melissa Bryson and husband Dan, Hutchinson; stepson, Paul Roberts and wife Maggie, Billings, Mont.; and three grandchildren, Alan Roberts, Danielle Bryson, and Emily Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery with Pastor Destry M. Cowell presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
