Rodney Vern Hayes, 53, died unexpectedly March 1, 2022, at Comanche County Hospital.  He was born August 23, 1968, in Wamego, to Michael and Rita (McCormick) Hayes.

Rodney graduated from high school in Topeka.  He was very intelligent, despite his personal challenges.  Since Rodney was a little boy, he aspired to be a biker, always wishing for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Rodney is survived by:  his mom, Rita Rodman of Hutchinson; brother, Everett Hayes of Lansing; half-sisters, Tanya Baskin and Mandy Wilson of Wisconsin; and aunt and uncle, Eudella and Roy Fairchild.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Michael Hayes; stepfather, Jerry Rodman; and nephew, Christopher Hayes.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Park Place Christian Church, with the Reverend Dr. David Dubovich officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo, KS.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
