Obituary

Roger Wayne Scott, 76, of Hutchinson, died June 7, 2026, at Hospice House. He was born March 18, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Harold W. "Skeet" and Betty I. (Collins) Scott.

Roger grew up in Burrton, where he graduated from high school in 1968. He attended Hutchinson Community College and received his associate’s degree from Butler County Community College. Roger worked at Superior Boiler Works for nearly 30 years, retiring as a quality control specialist. He enjoyed playing Pinochle and other card games with family and friends. Roger was a “junker” and loved finding items at garage sales and estate sales, many of which he sold on E-bay. He loved the Colorado mountains, watching the birds, fishing, and being out in nature. Most of all, Roger loved spending time with his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

On September 20, 1985, Roger married Janet L. Domingo, in Burrton. They shared over 40 years of marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; son, Chris Scott (Kitra) of Monument, CO; daughter, Tiffany Scott (Paul Kleinhans) of Monument, CO; grandchildren, Samantha Light (Joe), Shawn Martin, Madison Scott, Hunter Scott, Trystan Pyle, Garrett Pyle, Jade Kleinhans, all of Colorado; nieces and nephews (that are almost like siblings), Nancy Scott, Jayne Leiker, Tammy Kanatzar, Jill Meacham (Mike), Scott Wanasek (Jill), Aimee Forcum (Destry); great-nephews and nieces, Joseph Scott (Teresa), Joshua Scott (Brooke), Jessica Dilbeck (TJ), Jeremy Gentry, Jamie Scott (Kirstie), Cassandra Morin (Miles), Misty Casura (Travis), Amanda Bethards (Tyler), Bryce Meacham, Natalee and Alec Wanasek, Gunner Forcum (Rayna), Gabriella Forcum, Brayden and Ashton Luedtke, Finnley Fulton, Liam Miller; great-great nephews and nieces, Tobin, Ben, Caleb, Ethan, Jakob, Emily (Evan), Jeremy Jr, Gavin, Kaiden, Hudson, Ava, Lexie, Aaliyah, Cameron, Cassidy, Roman, Xander, Zeke, Ruby, Tate, Asher; great-great-great niece, Eloise; the children’s mother, Lucynda Matlack; as well as many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and William Max Scott, Kay Wanasek; parents-in-law, Melvin and Linda Domingo; brother-in-law, Phil Domingo; nephews Timothy Scott and Joel Scott.

Cremation has taken place.

Service details are pending and will be announced when they are available.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Elliott Mortuary.
