Obituary

Roland Anthony "Papa" Barden, 52, died September 24, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born January 27, 1969, in Fort Collins, CO, to Richard William and Evelyn (Beaudet) Barden.

Roland worked as a Master Plumber in Colorado for 20 years.  He was currently employed by the Hutchinson Correctional Facility as the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.  Prior to that position, Roland was the supervisor for "Mustangs On The Move", which is the correctional facilities' wild horse program.  Roland enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.  Known as "Papa" to his three adoring grandchildren, he always made time for his grandchildren.  Roland and his daughter, Ashley, had a special father-daughter bond that will be forever cherished.

Roland is survived by:  his children, Ashley Frank and husband Aaron of Hutchinson and Nathan Barden and wife Kayla of Colorado; mother, Evelyn Barden of Hutchinson; brother, Chad Barden and wife Cyndy of Florida, and their three children, Katrina, Dakota and Justin; and three grandchildren, Lyrik Stockton, Kyston  and Broen Frank.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Billy (who died at birth), and his father (who died five days prior to Roland's death).

Celebration of Life service for Roland will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, with a short time of remembrance at 2:30 p.m. at Elliott Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Roland Barden Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchison, KS  67501.
