Roland "Dale" Baker, 86, of Hutchinson, died May 1, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1936, in Owen, Wisconsin, to Alfred and Edna (Gadke) Baker.

Dale served in the United States Air Force. After his discharge, Dale settled in Hutchinson and received his degree in automotive technologies from Hutchinson Community College. He was a machine operator at Cessna/Eaton for many years until his retirement.

Dale was a musician who loved singing and playing the harmonica and guitar. He loved gospel, country, and bluegrass music, and with his "Baker Country" band, played in local nursing homes and retirement centers. Dale also enjoyed RVing in his later years, spending several winters in Texas. He was of the Christian faith and attended various area churches.

Dale is survived by his wife Leanna Baker and children, Ronnie, Darwin, Angela, Tom and Dayla.  Also surviving are his sisters, Donna, Carol, Sherry and his step children Cheryl, Doug, Kathie and Brad and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Jerry, Leroy, Duane, Dick; sister, Alice; stepdaughter, Debbie Goering; son-in-law, Duane Wright; and stepsons-in-law, James Apps and Robert Treinen.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Buhler Municipal Cemetery East 14842 E 82nd Ave., Buhler, with military honors conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Delos V. Smith Senior Citizens Center or Senior Center at Elmdale Park, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
