Ronald Eugene 'Ron' Southards, 79, died on June 29, 2019, at Hospice House. He was born on December 12, 1939, in Trousdale, Kansas, to Walter F. Sr. and Alta Marie (Ellis) Southards. He grew up in Belpre, Kansas.

Ron worked at Morton Salt and later was a power lineman before becoming a landlord operating Ron's Residential Rentals.

He is survived by: wife, Kay; children, Alan Southards (Jacquie Chansler), Tina Ford (Rusty), and Chanin Aumiller (David); grandchildren, Jamie Anderson (Matt), Randy Ford, Meghan Graham (Ian), Dallas Aumiller (Lynsi), and Chiann Frank (Dalton); great-grandchildren, Harriet, Landry, and Ava; siblings, Walt Jr. Southards (Janet), Janet Bibbs (Charles), Sharon Yoder (Ron); and sister-in-law, Susan Southards. He was preceded in death by: his parents and siblings, Betty (Red) Robinson, Kenny (Anita) Southards, and Bruce Southards.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Ron Yoder officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Building Trades Scholarship at Hutchinson High School, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
