Ronald C. Johnson, 74, died Feb. 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Hutchinson, the son of Cleon C. and Lucy C. Turner Johnson. He attended schools in Hutchinson. A resident of Hutchinson, he worked in plant maintenance at Western Resources, formerly K.P.L.
He belonged to Forest Park Presbyterian Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Horseless Carriage Club, was active in the Sandhill Saddle Club, drove the train for the State Fair Railroad for many years and was co-owner of the Lake Talbot Boat Rides at the State Fair. He served in the U.S. Army.
On June 2, 1957, he married Zora McKinney in Howard. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Russell "Rusty," and wife, Vicki, Inman; two daughters, Ronna Olivier and husband, Michael, Manhattan, and Tracie Johnson and husband, Curtis, Little River; a brother, Jack, Hutchinson; a sister, Judy Cabral, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren, Nathan, Robin and Rachel Olivier, and Austin, Alexis, Elizabeth and Dessirae Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bob Johnson.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in North Inman Cemetery. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Park Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Chris Davis presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
