Obituary

Ronald Vernon 'Ron' Wilson, 73, of Hutchinson, died January 1, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 22, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Vernon Wilson and Margaret (Chandler) Graham.

Ron graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964 and shortly after, enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a union brick layer for over 50 years and worked in Colorado and Kansas City. Ron was a member of the Brick Layers Union BAC Local 15, Moose Lodge #982, and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68.

On September 5, 1992, he married Linda Henry in Las Vegas. They shared 27 years of marriage together.

Ron is survived by: wife, Linda Wilson, Hutchinson; sons, Derek Wilson (Christine), Severance, CO, and Ryan Wilson, Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Bryce, Anna, and Katie; stepdaughter, Lisa Saylor (Scott), Hutchinson;  stepson, Jeff Arnett (Ginger), Hutchinson; five step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; half sister, Kathi Niemeir (Frank), Woodstock, GA; half brother, Rod Wilson, Wichita; and sister-in-law, Jan Wilson Harlow (John), Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Rick Wilson; and half sister, Regina.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Gary Getting officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, January 6, through Friday, January 17.
