SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Rosa May King-Hahn Morris, 86, died May 1, 2006, at Garden Terrace Health Care Center.
She was born Jun 11, 1919, in Nickerson, the daughter of Charles E. and Florence Marie Ross King, and then was raised by her Uncle and Aunt Harry and Marie Hoffman. She graduated in 1936 from Hutchinson High School. A longtime South Hutchinson resident, she had been employed in the offices of the former Anthony's Department Store, was a credit manager for Star Clothiers and was the secretary and treasurer for Hahn Trucking until retiring in 1965.
She belonged to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, had been secretary for the Carey Park Women's Golf Association for four years, the South Hutchinson Centennial in 1986, the South Hutchinson Planning Board and was active in the South Hutchinson Civic Affairs. She was the co-chair for the Class of 1936 Reunion Committee. She belonged to the Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1371 and the Kansas Motor Carriers Association.
On April 20, 1950, she married Leon Hahn. He died Aug. 12,1984. On Dec. 2, 1989, she married Stacy V. Morris. He died Sept. 24, 2004.
Survivors include: a stepson, Stacy V. Morris Jr., Newton; three stepdaughters, Vicky Lewis, Derby, Jannell Potter, Hutchinson, and Kaylene Miller, Wichita; a brother, Charles King, Federal Way, Wash.; two sisters, Lula Rea, Ramona, Calif., and Eloise Peters, Pensacola, Fla.; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Mike Morris; and a brother, Clarence King.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Penwell Gable's Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
