PRETTY PRAIRIE - Rosalia O'Leary, 88, died October 10, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born November 24, 1921, in Dodge City, to Fred L. and Ethel R. Wilburn Smith.

A resident of Pretty Prairie since 1939, Rosalia was a waitress for many years, a librarian and a homemaker.

Rosalia was a member of the Holiday Ramblers, Wichita, Good Sams in Hutchinson, Royal Neighbors of America and Rebekah Lodge. She belonged to Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church and was a member of United Methodist Women.

On April 19, 1939, she married Harold V. O'Leary in WaKeeney. He died August 31, 1996.

Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Tacha and husband Roger, Oakley, Kan., and Billie Nedeau and husband Bill, Osage City, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Joyce O'Leary, Pretty Prairie; three grandchildren, Mikel O'Leary, Janet Fisher and Dusty Tacha; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Briana Fisher; two step-grandchildren, Tim Nedeau and Jodi Parry; and a step-great-granddaughter, Brynna Parry.

Rosalia was preceded in death by her husband, son, J.R. O'Leary, and a grandson, Jeffrey Oliver.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church with Pastor Marilyn Christmore officiating. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church, or J.R. O'Leary Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
