Rosalie F. Nunemaker, 78, South Hutchinson, went to be with her Lord Feb. 26, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Raymond, to Frank and Eunice Proffitt Stout. The Stout family later moved to Langdon where Rosalie graduated from Langdon High School. She was married to Charles Edward Nunemaker for 25 years.
Rosalie was a homemaker until her children were grown, then worked at AVS Veterinary Clinic, South Hutchinson, the gift shop departments at Hutchinson Floral and Reno Hardware, then 23 years as bookkeeper for Don's Custom Floral. Rosalie sang for many weddings, special events and was director of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church junior choir. She was a huge advocate for music in the schools. Rosalie loved birds, flowers and seeing the beauty in all things.
She is survived by: two daughters, Linda and husband Tony Law, Hutchinson, Dr. Julia and husband Doug Eggert, Greer, S.C.; longtime companion, Keith Showalter, South Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Stacey Law, Stephanie Glazier, Derek Law, Olivia Tackett, Devon and Jonathon Eggert; three great-grandchildren, Destinee and Darion Tackett, Madison Glazier; one brother, Gene Stout; three sisters, Roberta Drake, Pauline "Grace" Kittle and Doris Caywood. She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Carla Sue Nunemaker Harrison; granddaughter, Brooke Ann Cotter; six brothers, Bill, Don, William "Jiggs," Cy, Dick and Pete Stout; two sisters, Orabelle Smith and Alma "Sally" Cole.
A celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Ault-Duell officiating. Friends may sign her book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Lerado Cemetery.
