Rosanna Ruth Spencer Grandon, 79, died June 22, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 13, 1929, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Jay Emery and Barbara Ruth Updegrove Baker.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School and then became a telephone operator and dispatcher for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1982 after 33 years.
She was a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene and Telephone Pioneers of America.
On Feb. 13, 1949, she married Alvin F. "Bill" Spencer in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 18, 1982. She then married Paul W. Grandon on July 27, 1985 in Hutchinson. He died June 16, 2005.

Anderson, Springfield, Mo., Michael Wayne Penner, Marysville, Ky.; niece, Laura Wiens, Hutchinson; great-nephews, Jay William Baker, Aurora, Colo., Franklin Wayne Baker, Thorton, Colo.; great-nieces, Jennifer Wiens and Janet Corbin, of Hutchinson, Joylene S. Baker, Thorton, Colo., Marie Schultz, Brighton, Colo.; great-great-nephews, Logan and Joshua Hogue, Hutchinson; and a great-great-niece, Stephanie Rose Corbin, Hutchinson; and a brother-in-law, Harvey Penner, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Emily Louise Baker, Helen Marie Penner and Eleanor Louise Anderson, brothers-in-law, Jim Anderson and Bob Anders, and a nephew, John Anderson.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel with Reverend Ronald Crosley presiding. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
