Rose Marie Ewald, 90, died April 30, 2014, at Park West Plaza Retirement Village, Wichita. She was born February 25, 1924, in Merricourt, ND to Joseph and Josephine Vondra Jandos. She was a graduate of Kanopolis High School. She was a homemaker and a fifty year member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Altar Society.

On February 14, 1952, she married George Henry Ewald at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He died December 5, 2007.

Survivors include; son, Jerome Ewald and wife Dolores of Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Clare Lenz and husband Corwin of Holyoke, CO; grandson, Andrew Ewald of Wichita; great granddaughter, Camille Lenz of Holyoke, CO; sister-in-law, Juliana Ewald of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Anne Marie Ewald; sister, Adaline Bachand; brother, George Jandos; sister, Lillian Feldkamp; and sister, Betty Ewald.

Parish rosary will be 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. all at The Church of the Holy Cross Monday, May 5, 2014 with Father Joseph A. Eckberg presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call Saturday thru Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Endowment Fund or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
