Obituary

Rose Clara Stelter, 86, died May 12, 2007, at her home, Hutchinson.

She was born April 4, 1921, in Lake Lenore, Sask-

atchewan, Canada, the daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Everett Berscheid. She graduated from Lake Lenore High School, Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada, and St. Elizabeth Hospital Nursing Program, Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, she was a retired registered nurse at Hutchinson Hospital and the former St. Elizabeth Hospital.

She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society at the church and the Quilting Club.

On Jan. 7, 1957, she married Robert H. Stelter in Lawrence. He survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Joann Drummond, Hutchinson; a brother, Barney Berscheid, Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada; three grandsons; and a step-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Matt, William, Anthony and Leo; two infant brothers; and five sisters, Ann Yeager, Frances Berscheid, Katherine Silzer, Susan Lemmerich and Leona Silzer.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Valley Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, St. Teresa Catholic Grade School or Hospice of Reno County, all in care of the funeral home.
