Roseamond Lee "Rhodie" Dunsworth, 97, passed away Jan. 26, 2015, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Hutchinson, to Charles and Isabel (Cole) Pierson.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Hutchinson, and was in housekeeping for First National Bank and several hotels in the area, including the historic Bisonte Hotel. Her favorite job in life was being a nanny.
In 1939, Roseamond married Clifford Dunsworth in Kingman. They were married 43 years until his death in 1982. Survivors include: daughters, Saundra Dunsworth and Gail (Larry) Knott, both of Wichita; sons, Stephen (Marilyn) Dunsworth and Rickey (Patty) Dunsworth, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Donica (Joe) Hughes, Darcy Swisher, Stephanie (Dan) Covington, Telly Knott, Michael Fountain, Robert (Amanda) Knott, Brian Dunsworth, Ryan Dunsworth; great-grandchildren, Richie Doss, Jason McKown, Jennifer (Lloyd) Cross, Joey McKown, Ben Hughes, Nathan Hamilton, Drew Covington, Holly Covington, Mathew Knott, Andrew Knott; seven great great-grandchildren; sister, Veora Abernathy; brother, Gib (Georgie) Pierson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; sister, Vera Firebaugh; brothers, Elmo, Clyde and John Paul Pierson; granddaughter, Debbie Hand.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at First Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Phipps presiding. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday at the mortuary.
