Roselma Griggs, 91, died June 16, 2014, at Glen Carr House in Derby, Kan. She was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Saffordville, Kan., to William and Lillie Pearl Sampson Fox.

She graduated from Cedar Point High School in 1941 and Halstead Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. On Sept. 2, 1944, she married Otis Ray Griggs in Newton, Kan. He died Dec. 3, 2007. Survivors include: daughters, Cynthia Shotts and husband Lawrence of Shelton, Wash., Susan Rush and husband Ben of Winfield, Kan., Debra Deines of Udall, Kan.; son, Gail Griggs and wife Jeannine of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Lower and Mildred Rhoads, both of Topeka, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Nathan Deines; and sisters, Elnora Schroer Phillips, Myrtle Pracht Thut, Lucille Osgood, and Minnie Goodell.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Grant Township Cemetery, Marion County, Kan., with Pastor Mike McGuire presiding. At the families request there will be no memorial contributions and book.
