Obituary

Rosemary Lou Engelland, 87, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015. She was born Nov. 22, 1927, at Plevna, the daughter of Walter and Olive Pieplow Rapp.

She was a 1945 graduate of Reno County Rural High School, Nickerson, a member of Midland United Church of Christ, Cameo, bridge and study clubs. Rosemary had been a farm wife, a secretary for Lyons Veterinary Clinic, Ark Valley Veterinary Clinic, and Sterling and Central Feeders of Lyons.

On Aug. 13, 1946, she married Donald P. Engelland in Great Bend. He died Sept. 22, 1998.

Survivors include: their children, Connie of South Hutchinson, Kathryn (Bruce) Luster of Frisco, Texas, Stanley (Carolyn) of Sterling, Kristen Engelland of Lyons; a brother, Galen (Eleanor) Rapp of Topeka; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Reiff of Buhler, Andrea Engelland of Austin, Texas; and three great-granddaughters, Macy, Laney and AJ Reiff. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janelle Krenzin, and her husband, Myron.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Judy Conners presiding.
Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
